Jake Stewart is a former infantryman from the US military who works as Ryan Carter's chauffeur. He served as the second love interest within Ryan's main story route before getting replaced by Parker Sparke in the final season. He is also a supporting character in Matt and Gabriel's story routes. He became the main love interest of his own story route, and is the older brother of the late Emma Baumann. In Chapter 10, his real name is revealed as Jack Baumann.
Appearance[]
Jake has curly brown hair with fringes on each side, amber eyes, and facial stubble. He also has a scar on his left cheek and side-burn.
He has six outfits in the story and two of his new outfits can be seen on his main story route.
His main outfit is a navy blue formal suit with a long neck tie and black shoes.
His second outfit is his semi-casual outfit. It consists of a black formal suit jacket with a partially opened white long sleeved button shirt, blue jeans, and his black shoes from his main outfit. His dog tags can be seen as well.
When he stays with the player when being confined at the hospital, his appearance is opposed to other main love interests including Ryan who shows their well-toned physique, Jake wears a black tank top and white trousers.
His casual outfit which he shows in Season 2 of Gabriel's route is a gray sweatshirt with a white neckline, blue jeans and a black belt which his shirt is partially tucked over. In his main story route, he wore his second casual attire which is a green denim blazer with a white long sleeved shirt, black jeans and maintaining his shoes in Season 2 of Gabriel's. His entire outfit is also covered in a long black winter coat and a matching scarf. His other outfit is his winter casual outfit which is seen in the secret scene in Chapter 3, seeing him wearing a black thermal jacket, a matching black jeans, shoes and retaining his matching scarf. At the final chapter of the story, the color of his jeans are mistakenly recolored to medium blue before changing back to its original color black.
His formal outfit is a black tuxedo suit with a white long sleeve button-up shirt along with a black bow tie and matching black shoes.
- In the second season of Gabriel's route, and in one of Ryan's extra love scenes, Jake was shirtless. His muscular figure and abs are similar to Jarod Harding. He wore a pair of brownish gray trousers to show off being a hipster. In the Easter chocolate ad, his trousers are replaced with pale blue jeans with a black belt around his waist along with a silver squared buckle and black shoes from his main outfit. His sunglasses was hanging loose on his left pocket.
Personality[]
In Ryan's story, Jake is shown to be calm, composed, serious, and protective of the player. He is a gentleman to the player when she was stressed due to Ryan's work or his stern behavior. This can be seen in the bad ending when the player breaks her engagement with Ryan due to Jenny's threats and Jake comforts her. In the second season, Jake became much more determined when he protected the player from any death threatening letters from Alicia Boone. As soon as Ryan and the player were about to marry, Jake began a relationship with Jenny and also showed his doubts. In one of Ryan's extra love scenes, Jake showed his passionate side when he had sex with Jenny. These qualities would soon be adapted into his main story route.
In the third and final season which takes place three years after both seasons, it is evident that Jake has a soft spot for children, as he gave Ryan's son a Russian picture book. It was also revealed that Jake is taking charge of the security for the New York mayoral campaign. Jake - like Mark Leviels - is also knowledgeable about Laurens Van Daele, the friend of Ryan's late rival Leopold Williamson.
When waiting for Ryan or the player - especially in the bad ending - Jake is shown lighting his cigarette, which proves that he is a chain smoker.
In Gabriel's story, he maintains his professional personality, but also displays his hatred towards Jenny due to her spoiled nature, a contrast to their relationship in Ryan's story. Jake can also be strict and selfish at times. Since Chapter 3, Jake befriends the player and Matt Ortega. Between the events of Chapter 3 and the beginning of Chapter 4, he briefly had a date with Lisa Parker. However, he rudely rejected her, wanting to focus on his boxing match with Markus at Matt's boxing tournament. It was later revealed that Jake wasn't interested in a relationship. He was given love advice by the player regarding him and Lisa, and he also talked about his job to protect Jenny, which happened because Jenny would sneak away from her old bodyguards. Jake explained that he was happy that he's a part of the player's side along with Matt and Lisa. In Chapter 6, Jake confirmed his relationship with Lisa when the player had asked him, but felt disappointed because he didn't want his relationship with Lisa to be exposed. In Chapter 7 it was soon revealed that he did not have a relationship with her and she lied to him about their current relationship. He was also convinced by Jenny not to give up the fight after he decided to quit the tournament after getting overpowered by Markus. In Chapter 8, he is shown to be happy and excited after beating Markus in that match which is enough to praise his friends including Matt, Jenny, Lisa, and the player. At the final chapter of the story, it reveals Jake's relationship with Jenny when the player decided to barge on her apartment, thinking she's on with Gabriel but turns out to be false.
In his main's story, he still maintains his personality in both Ryan and Gabriel's routes and enjoys questioning the player about her problems where she was broke up by her now ex-boyfriend Ashton Darrow during the seven years of their relationship. Also, he was worried for the player when being threatened by Ryan because of her stubbornness. In Chapter 2, Jake befriended the player after Ryan allows him to come with her within her trip to Moscow, and normally shows his over protectiveness to her, thinking she was in trouble and the player was just venting herself out because of Ashton who visits her apartment. He also hates criticism at the near end of the same chapter where he overheard the player heckling to Lisa on their respective phones about him being arrogant and as a result Jake became angry and cold towards her and rudely scolds her for her statement with Lisa on the phone and he remarked to her that he is not her friend but is her bodyguard. That soon changes whenever they spend time in Moscow by having an exquisite dinner and watching the player doing ice skating in the rink. He also displays his bravado like he did in Ryan's route where he protects the player by fighting off two Russian armed men as well as his doubts when he passionately kisses her inside the private jet to overcome her fear and anxiety much like he does with Jenny at the same route. In Chapter 5, Jake reveals that he is also friends with Joe Kicks prior to being employed with Ryan at his company when he handles a security in one of his concert tours which is why he knows about his barn. Like both William Sheffield in Blue Swan and Zac Hudson from Fallen Road, Jake is also a natural good cook when he was seen cooking some ham and cheese omelet for the player after getting surprised by her presence while he holds his gun at her. He later tells the player about his cooking skills where his mother Mrs. Baumann taught him how to cook and by helping her to cook food. He also shown to cook both lasagna and French toast during their stay at Joe's barn.
In chapter 8, Jake finally opens up to the player about his prescription drug addiction where he became aggressive due to constant stress and always taking medications. He also reveals that Carrie was helping him during the war in Afghanistan prior to their leave in the military service and also assisting him to overcame the drug addiction. Although his real identity was revealed at the end of Chapter 9 when the player realizes about who he really was. In Chapter 10 despite the player's anger of learning of Jake's real identity. Jake reveals himself to her as Jack Baumann in both apologetic and sincere because of his secrecy.
However at the end of chapter 5 through Chapter 6, Jake is somewhat aloof but became growing distant towards the player following their romantic affair. It is revealed that he dislikes close relations because of his bodyguard job and giving the temptation to the player is unacceptable only for the player to reassure him that it was only just the two of us and spending their respective free time together. He is also displaying his hostility and jealousy towards Ashton when the player tells him to visit to eat dinner at her apartment to settle their differences and moved on their former relationship. At the final chapter of the story, he decided to start a new life anew with the player after both had resigned their respective posts.
Starting from chapter 8 like other love interests would give the player their affectionate nickname, Jake calls her as a little minx due to her strong personality and being workaholic and later in the final chapter, he called her as a little bombshell.
Season 1 (Ryan's Route)[]
Jake Stewart is a former infantryman from the US military. He was 18 years old when he was sent to war-torn Afghanistan. After the horrible experience in the war, he finally left the military and was later hired by Ryan Carter as a chauffeur.
Eight years later, he was later introduced to the player by Ryan as his executive assistant. As Jake takes her home from a museum, he tells the player to call him by his first name and struck a friendship, going as far as giving her his cellphone number in case of emergency.
In Chapter 5, Jake reveals his past to the player and his experiences in the Afghanistan war after taking her out for a drink, the reader irritated from Ryan's lectures.
In Chapter 7, he took the player home after she found out about Ryan's lies. As she got drunk in her apartment he put her to bed before she drunkenly kissed him out of grief. He left out of respect for her, as he wasn't comfortable with her drunken state.
Throughout the chapters, Jake protects the player from any danger until Ryan fires him due to their closeness. In the bad ending, the player finally apologizes to Jake regarding about the incident in Chapter 7 and soon accepts her apology. He also likes her to make friends by taking her to the bar for a drink. When the player was upset due to Ryan's upbringing and being used when she was engaged with him. Jake came to see at her office. By the time he comforts the player, they were caught by Ryan who gets mad at them and he angrily whispers to him that he is no longer their chauffeur, firing him on the spot. His actions caused the player to get mad at him, seeing his protectiveness to his sister Jenny and finally had enough of his upbringing, she angrily breaks her engagement to him by returning the ring to him and stomps away from his office. Jake then takes the player to the bar for comfort, following his firing from Ryan.
Season 2 (Ryan's Route)[]
Jake was later reinstated by Ryan after his half-sister Jenny Blake was nearly kidnapped by her captors due to her and the player being given threatening death letters coming from Alicia Boone and he now serves as a bodyguard to the player.
Jake later investigates at Jenny's apartment at the start of Chapter 5 where her male parakeet serving as her pet was recently killed by an unknown assailant who also send another threatening death letters. After the argument between the half-siblings, Jake informs Ryan that the culprit can easily enter in the window after observing at the park then exits on the back exit leading him to let him recruit to serve as Jenny's bodyguard. Jake later tells the player that he recruits his war buddy Ethan to serve as a bodyguard to Jenny as he continued to serve as a bodyguard to her he even follows her to the Nightmareden concert. Later, Jake was the one who interrupts the romantic sessions between both her and Ryan at the meeting room and informs them about what he had found. He informs Ryan that Jenny goes to meet with Leopold Williamson's wife Veuve Williamson at the restaurant and going as far as she tries to avoid Ethan. He then shows to Ryan a photo between Jenny and the widow which was taken by Ethan from his cellphone, Ryan became furious over his sister's actions until Jenny hears the recording of their conversation to them.
Throughout the chapters, he mostly guards the player especially when she has problems with Ryan while giving her some comfort. But at the near end of Chapter 7, he and the player were scolded by Ryan when he was jealous of them until he clarifies the player about their misunderstanding after learning that it was Alicia Boone that was the mole of Carter Corp and as the blackmailer who sent threatening death letters to both the player and Jenny. The next day, Jake receives a call from the player about the anonymous package, leading him to go with the other agents to inspect and check the package, thinking it was life threatening. Once they opened, they reveal a white swimsuit much to their disappointment. That night, Jake was invited with the Carters for celebrating that the company is no longer involved in illegal works thanks to Colin's efforts to delete most of the files and it also reveals he was hanging out with Jenny before Ryan reveals to the player about a gift he sent to her for taking vacation at Maldives. In Chapter 8, the player reveals that Jake chased Alicia in a hot pursuit in Havana, Cuba following her failed assassination attempt on Ryan. Jake was later severely injured when Alicia managed to ambush him from behind by shooting him in his back, resulting in him to return to New York and be hospitalized as well as removing the bullet at the O.R. whether he survives or not.
Jake eventually recovers from the operation in Chapter 9 and also begins his relationship to Jenny which she secretly keeps from her brother Ryan and they were also present after Matt and Ethan managed to subdue Alicia at Matt's apartment. During the wedding celebration in Chapter 10, Jake continued his relationship with Jenny while showing his doubts about seeing Ryan and the player get married only to be scolded by Jenny as she convinced him to move on which he agreed. In the final chapter of the story, Jake remains in his relationship with Jenny as Ryan is now ready to become a father to the player's unborn child in parenthood. In the bad ending where Ryan chooses to more focus on his work duties as the head of Carter Corp. Jake and Jenny visit the player at the hospital who finally gives birth to her's Ryan's unborn child.
Season 3 (Ryan's Route)[]
Jake was mentioned by Jenny in the third and final season of his route which takes place three years after both seasons, and it was revealed that he has a mission he needs to finish and remains in his relationship with Jenny. Jenny had mentioned to the player that she was thinking about having a baby with Jake but dropped the subject. He later appears in Chapter 4 during the player's nightmare where he and Ryan were shot and killed by Alicia. In Chapter 5, Jake appears to visit the player at their apartment and he warns them about Leopold's best friend, Laurens Van Daele whom he had served him for his mayoral position and became suspicious for his actions.
Season 2 (Gabriel's Route)[]
In Gabriel's route, he has been assigned by Ryan to protect Jenny from any possible danger but is also there to make sure she does her job correctly, which annoys her as she believes she can manage herself. In Chapter 2, he saves Jenny, Lisa and the player from two aggressive men in Starlite who were harassing them, which impressed the player, Lisa, Matt and Colin. When Jake takes the player, Lisa and Jenny home, we find out that Jake is not very fond of Jenny. As he insults her in front of Lisa and the player while she is asleep, calling her pretension, and a spoiled brat that's full of herself who always gets what she wants by the snap of her fingers. However, despite his hatred for Jenny, he has no problem watching over her due to the respect he has for his employer, Ryan Carter. In chapter 3, he went to Carter Corp on his day off just to talk to Lisa Parker, which shocked the player as she thought Lisa wasn't going to pursue him. Jake was fine with having the day off since Jenny had told him that she would go to work and then straight home, but had lied to him since she went shopping during work hours. After shopping, the player and Lisa convince Jenny to tell Jake that she had lied to him so they can start to build trust with each other despite the fact they hate each other. While walking home they find Jake in the gym boxing with Matt Ortega. Jake also had a brief date with Lisa in which the player discovers they were both kissing. In the beginning of Chapter 4, it is revealed that Jake decided to participate in a boxing match held by Matt and rudely rejects Lisa by calling on her phone who is devastated to learn that he will not to come to her house for dinner and stay for the night. Jake then battles Matt's childhood friend, Markus at the tournament.
Later, he and the player were having a conversation at Central Park and he reveals that he lied to Lisa about participating in the tournament instead of going to her house and knew that changing his mind in going to her home would hurt her. The player then yells at him for his actions, surprising him and also reveals that he doesn't like to have a relationship causing the player to give some love advice regarding about any forms of a relationship. Jake was shocked when she tells him and then finally agreed to her words that he needs some better understanding to Lisa more. He then takes her back to Carter Corp and upon seeing Jenny talking to Mark. The player gave him more advice regarding about making friends between him and Jenny and he tells her that Ryan had fired some of the bodyguards when Jenny would sneak away for her own accord without protection and he was the one who is capable of handling her. Jake happily accepted the player's group along with Matt and Lisa and he tells her about Lisa while he gave her a wink before leaving with his car. In Chapter 7, it was revealed that he does not have a relationship with Lisa and Lisa was lying to him that they were in a current relationship which completely upset him. Later during the tournament held by Matt on his Gym, he battles Markus but was overpowered and decided to throw the towel and giving up the fight.
He is also the reason that cause an argument with both Jenny and Lisa who stated that both him and Jenny's relationship are ambiguous. The player tells Jenny to tried to reason with Jake which she agreed while she tells Lisa that it is enough, because she has no chance for him. In Chapter 8, Jake joins at both Jenny and the player's trip in Atlantic City to protect them until Lisa arrives to join with them at the airport and he reveals to the player that Jenny is close to Gabriel when it comes to their work and not knowing that Gabriel has a relationship with the player as well as he has one of the contacts coming from Steven. He informs the player that Steven is permanently banned in Las Vegas, Nevada due to his cheat-to-win tactics. At the final chapter of the story, this reveals his relationship with Jenny as he stays on their apartment. He also saw the player who makes a barrage of horrible remarks towards Jenny because of Gabriel but it was a misunderstanding. Seeing their relationship, the player decided to leave them.
Season 1[]
The story begins with the player working a late night at Carter Corp, where she serves as the Chief Financial Officer. Her boyfriend Ashton Darrow, another employee at the corporation, suddenly breaks up with her, explaining that he needed to give himself more space. Shocked and upset, the player is leaving the office before she bumped into Jake, who was there to pick up his motorcycle keys. During their short conversation, Jake realizes how emotional the player is and complimented her work ethic. After the intimate interchange, the player leaves to go to Starlite to meet with Lisa Parker. There, the player informs Lisa of the breakup.
The next morning, Jake encounters the player once again at Ryan's office. He remains observant and composed when the player reports the inconsistencies in the accounts within Carter Corp's Russian branch. The player wished to go to Russia and investigate the abnormalities, but Ryan refused to let her go. The player would ignore her boss's wishes and apply for a Russian visa, which would ultimately be denied. The next day however, with the help of her now ex-boyfriend Ashton, she cleared up her denied application. After Lisa informs her that Ryan sabotaged her visa, the player and Ryan have a confrontation. Before the confrontation, Jake warns her about Ryan's threats. Ryan eventually allows the player to go to Russia, but only under the pretense that Jake goes with her as her bodyguard. The player reluctantly agrees.
In Chapter 2, Jake quickly befriended the player when they talk to each other from their cellphones. He soon arrives by slamming the door open to see the player, thinking she was in trouble. She corrected his actions while calling him as James Bond because she was only venting out her frustration because of Ashton who visits her at her apartment. On the way to the airport, he was contacted by Ryan about their travels. At the airport, Jake tells her that they're not going to take them to a different airline but a private jet within the airlines of Carter Corp when they take business trips. Once the jet takes off to Russia, the player displays her fear of flying which is aerophobia, only for Jake to support and comfort her. Arriving at Moscow, they stayed at the suite in a luxury hotel to rest. The next day, they went to Carter Corp's Russian Branch and met up with Aleksei Votiakov, her Russian counterpart who mistakenly spoke Russian to them. He then let them tour the entire office and he lent her his office so she can work the problems of the accounts. Once letting Aleksei leave due to her workaholic nature, Jake helps her and tells her that she needed to rest. Arriving back at the hotel they take drink. This is where Jake tells her about his military life in the past until he almost kissed her closely stating that he needs some rest. The player received a call from Lisa and learns that Cassidy is trying to seduced her ex-boyfriend Ashton, but he rejected her advances, much to her relief. Upon talking about Jake, she criticizes Jake for being arrogant when Lisa continued to speak more about their respective love life as their conversation was overheard by Jake. As the door opens, Jake confronts her but in a silent rage and he decided to go back to his room to sleep. The next day, Jake becomes cold to the player's presence because of her criticism about him. On their way to Carter Corp's Russian branch, he finally scolds her for criticizing him when both her and Lisa are talking to their phones and he stated that she is not his friend but as a bodyguard. With his cold words, the player had screwed him up because of her heckling with Lisa.
In Chapter 3, Jake continues to watch over the player when she managed to fix the account issues while Aleksei is having a business meeting. Despite his anger to the player from earlier, he still worried for her safety due to his current job and asking if she is okay which she responds that she is fine, allowing him to leave to buy their lunch as well getting a frequent call from Ryan. As she continues to investigate the account issues, Aleksei arrives while displaying his villainy by staring at the player's beauty, which she gets uncomfortable as he decided to help her investigate the issues. Aleksei soon discovers that someone did the fraudulent invoice much to their discovers which lands himself getting defeated, stating that Ryan had appointed him to find these issues and he couldn't find it. Because of the player's efforts, he lets her give a night off with Jake. Therefore, the player soon discovers something sinister about Aleksei where he shows his violent side where he calls someone on the phone and he violently throws his phone. Before he would simply acted suspicious to her, Jake arrives. While going back to the suite, the player finally explains to Jake about what she had found on their investigation. Not until she talked about her Harvard days with both Gabriel and Ashton causing Jake to be turned off stating that he never studied on that University, leading them to have an argument and ignoring the player's apology because of her attitude. That night, Jake barges on the player's room after hearing someone is screaming as it turns out to be a movie she had watched while she attempts to minimize the volume using a remote. Therefore, both are staring each other since Jake had seen her only in a towel and the player was embarrassed and losing her focus. She tried to apologize to Jake for what happened earlier only for him to brush her off and decides to inform the reception about the broken door. However, she drags Jake in his forearm and finally apologizes for heckling between him and her knowingly that Lisa loves to gossip on any forms of romantic relationship and Jake kindly accepts her apology while he joked at her. He decides to take her for a walk around Moscow, much to her excitement and she also joked at him that they need to get dressed to get out of the hotel and Jake finally settled their schedule. While walking around in Moscow, this is where the player ask Jake of how he knows around this capital. He tells her that he had lived here a very long time ago during his former job as an infantryman. He then shows her the Bolshoi Theater which she wishes to watch this place until she received a phone call from Aleksei, informing her that he had found a group of culprits behind the fraudulent invoice. She also seen Jake getting pressured when Ryan had called him on his cellphone. She continued to ask about what happened which Jake responds it was just his normal expression. She soon tells Jake about the culprits behind the fraudulent invoice and Aleksei wanted to talk about them which makes him frown him for getting suspicious. Arriving at Carter Corps' Russian branch, they went to Aleksei's office and learning from him that it was his assistant was behind the fraudulent invoice. Aleksei was terrified and depressed and decides to resign. The player rebuffs him because of the counting mistakes. Because of her determination, Aleksei repays her by letting them eat at the exquisite restaurant here in Moscow while he does not want to come and he needs some sleep. As she looked at Jake twice he nods at first when he repays but for the second time he nods because of Aleksei's strange behavior, realizing that he was becoming suspicious. Returning back to their suite as Jake gave her an hour to dress up, the player gave Ryan a voicemail with her phone then taking a quick shower and call Lisa in how she supposed to wear for a date and also corrects her that she's having a dinner with Jake and not Aleksei. Lisa tells her that the black dress is more suitable to wear. As soon as she hang up her phone, she finally dresses up with a black dress until someone knocks the door and to see Jake in a black tuxedo much to her amusement. They had a date in a exquisite restaurant near the banks of the Moskva river that flows around in Moscow. The player also admits that Aleksei is spoiling on both of them while Jake is showing his gentleman side by pulling out her chair and they enjoyed drinking and eating. Once going back to their hotel, the player begins to like Jake's other side of his personality when he kissed on her forehead, forming their blossoming romance before they went to their respective rooms. While everyone is asleep, she was received a text message from Ashton until they converse each other with their phones wanted to know about the news in New York. Ashton tells her that they were fine as he invited Matt, Lisa and Gabriel at the new restaurant for dinner and continued talking about their working careers.
The next morning, the player tries to knock the door in Jake's room but nothing happened due to the fact that he was asleep as she goes to Carter Corp's Russian branch on her own. Only for Jake to call her and scolding her but the player hangs him up. She noticed that Aleksei keeps the door locked in his office as she waited on the lobby. Therefore, Jake arrives and scolds her for going off all by herself making the player rebuffs at him. Jake also apologizes to her because of it until Aleksei is behind them, informing that about his assistant behind the fraudulent invoice and manage to call Ryan afterward. That night, the player was dismayed after Aleksei's words which she tells Jake that she has to go somewhere not in the bar and Jake finally takes her at the St. Basil Cathedral and the player noticed there was an ice rink, decided to skate on ice. Seeing Jake hates to ice skate, the player takes him but knowingly he lose his balance. He let the player watch her enjoying skating in the ice rink. Afterwards, this is how the player tells her about her life and how she learns to ice skate from her mother who is a figure skater. Jake was disappointed upon she mentioned her ex-boyfriend Ashton until she asked him how he fluently speaks Russian. Jake tells her that he learned to speak Russian fluently when he takes upon schooling a long time ago. As soon as return to their respective rooms, the player admires him even more and it was the last day they can spend time here in Moscow. The next day when they are about to checking out, Aleksei visits them, telling him that they didn't say goodbye to him. The player apologizes for not coming to the bar he usually went and he easily noticed that the two were close only for Jake to rebuff him stating that they were colleagues. Once they reach to the airport and to the player's fear of flying, Jake noticed something suspicious once he opens the door for her, he violently pushes her away and sensing two armed men wearing ski mask over their faces and tries to gun down on both of them. Jake retaliated by aim at them with his handgun, much to her horror. Despite the disadvantage, Jake tries to take them down and the airport security aids him for a back up and neutralized the two armed men. Jake then returns to see the player who is crying over from getting shot until the Russians are talking about both of them. The player asked him of what the Russians are saying. Jake informs her that they need to leave immediately.
In the beginning of Chapter 4, both Jake and the player manage to board the private jet and the player became extremely anxious following the incident where they were strafed by two armed men. As soon as the private jet takes off, both the player's anxiety and her aerophobia are making herself overwhelmed and Jake tries to help her overcame by giving her a passionate kiss until they fell off into the floor, much to his embarrassment. Jake soon returns back to his seat and the player states that he was just analyzing her. But then again, Not just they met for the first time and their experiences in Russia, her desire with Jake is all fired up from the inside. Returning back to New York and since the player was tired, Jake tells her to meet up with Ryan for tomorrow instead of tonight. Arriving back at her apartment at his protection, Jake begins his doubt regarding about the kiss he did to the player at the private jet and allowing her to get some rest while he leaves back home. While spending time at her apartment, she had a long conversation with Gabriel by text messages and remarking about Gabriel's role for being a serial romanticist and is somewhat hostile thinking she was sleeping with Ryan. The next day, she also received missed calls coming from her ex-boyfriend Ashton, knowing he was worried for her well being. Here, she meets up with Jake and soon takes her to Carter Corp. He remained doubted about the kiss until the player turns their conversation into lively by making jokes which makes Jake to laugh of her jokes. Arriving at Carter Corp and to see Ryan at his office, they were met by the new Assistant Secretary after Alicia Boone (not to mentioned that Lisa replaces her in Ryan's route) who criticizes her for not doing her work so well until Jake barges through Ryan's office, much to her fury. Upon meeting Ryan, this is where he was mad upon learning that the player was nearly gunned down upon their returning flight from Moscow to New York and Jake informs him about the death threats at the player. He evenly stated that he shouldn't have sent her there because it was too dangerous. Instead of letting Ryan to call the police to guard on the player, Jake volunteers to guard the player in full time much to her disappointment which Ryan accepts and he tells the player that he will investigate about the two armed men who nearly attacked her and wants to know their true motives are as well as sending Aleksei here in New York to report about the fraudulent invoice.
On the way back to her office and despite the player's protest of being protected full-time by Jake, they were encountered by Ashton and showing attraction to her. The player became uncomfortable because of his unusual personality despite breaking up with her from the beginning . Not long when he informs her about the shooting incident, Jake takes her defenses stating that incident will be investigated. Also, the player refused Ashton's invitation for dinner to focus on the investigation and noticing Jake being jealous. Returning back on her apartment following her work duties, the player was horrified to see her apartment has been ransacked by the Russians and realizing that she was targeted by them following the shooting incident while trying to find documents regarding about the fraudulent issues and Jake decided to protect the player by spending most of her sick leave to protect the player by finding the small hotels or hostels since the perpetrators are always go to the luxury hotels. Jake is also confused when the player decided to visit Colin Spencer to know more about the perpetrators by hacking and Jake laughs upon learning who he is and comments him for being a pro. When they checked-in the hotel and using Jake's executive profession to get room instead of letting the player to stay in one room. She receives a message from Gabriel who wanted to talk to her about Ashton. At the bar, this is where both Gabriel and the player spoke about Ashton after seeing her changing behavior as well as her interest in Jake. Afterwards, Jake takes her to Carter Corp to visit Colin at his office. The player pranks him by removing the earphones as he glares at both of them which he recognizes her presence. She convinces Colin to investigate about the Russians who had went after her even after he tells her about Jake's protection and Ryan's investigation since she explains to him about her experiences in Moscow which he accepts. Jake is also confused about their conversation which the player tells him that Colin was given some coffee because of his job as a programmer which he understands her. Colin then decided to continue his work and to give email to the player about what he had discovered. Both soon went to Ryan's office by taking an elevator and Jake is seemingly questionable about the player's friendship with her co-workers. After the shrewd secretary allows them to enter at Ryan's office, they meet up with Ryan while Aleksei is with him and the player was surprised to see him unexpectedly. Aleksei informs the player that his assistant that he recently fired had committed suicide which Ryan also explains to her about the current incident and Jake knows his true judgment about that information was suspicious and player begins her doubts about the incident after Aleksei recently fires his employee who had led to commit suicide and was stressed out to think it was his fault for doing so.
Despite their faults in Chapter 5, Jake interrogates Aleksei regarding about his personal assistant who committed suicide by shooting himself to the head and was witnessed by his wife. Only to be stopped by Ryan, stating that the authorities between the US and Russia are going To handle the investigation. Aleksei wanted to take his resignation for the incident but Ryan angrily refused and decided to keep him at his company, much to the player's annoyance. The player was disappointed about Ryan's decision to keep Aleksei in the company since he decided to give her a time off due to her life is at stake, being targeted by Russian armed men. Ryan then tells them about their fun vacation but to the player's dismay after remembering these incident had happened to her. This is where both Jake and Ryan are having a debate about the player who's life is already on the line and Ryan wants to know where they going as Jake stubbornly refused to answer his questions even if he is his boss and Jake knows the mission he gave him is very important and confidential making Ryan to get angrily persists. Due to Jake's contract with him stating it was his current mission to protect the player, Ryan decided to let Jake go in his own free will stating that he needs his updates everyday. The player admires Jake very much but is much more secretive as she thought he was. Back at the hotel while Jake was guarding, the player was visited by Gabriel who actually gave her some friendly advices and he still think the player likes Ashton in which she misunderstands him. When Jake opens the door to see them talking, Jake leaves as the player noticed how jealous he is and Gabriel even stating that he won't become a third wheel when it comes to love triangles. She rebuffs Jake about Gabriel as a friend as well as checking her phone and her emails. Jake then takes her to the barn owned by Joe Kicks where she stated that the house was isolated. Jake also explains to her that he is acquainted with Joe prior to being hired by Ryan as a bodyguard where he handles the security during one of his concert tours. As they enter the barn, the player was amazed about the interior as well as making herself stay at home. As she sleeps at Joe's room, she had dreamed about Jake who romantically kisses at her until it changes into her ex-boyfriend Ashton, much to her nightmare. As she wakes up and remembering about both Jake and Ashton at her dream, she decided to get downstairs and get some drink. She saw Jake who is asleep on his couch. As soon as she walks on the kitchen to get a drink but the wood creaks, this awakens Jake and immediately points his gun at the player while mistook her as an enemy. The player rebuffs him that it was her, much to his surprise. He soon put the gun back to his pillow and quickly apologizes. The player reveals that she was hungry and Jake makes it up to her by making food for her by going to the kitchen. This is where Jake shows his cooking talents by making a ham and cheese omelet for her and asking the player if she can cook too which she confirms. She knows that both her and Ashton during their previous relationship that they almost taking out some food and she challenges Jake that she can cook some food for their dinner which Jake accepts her challenge since both of them were talented in cooking and wants to try and taste her cooking. The next day, she wakes up and decided to explore around Joe's barn. As she gets down, she noticed Jake is already awake and he also made coffee for them. She then looked at the bookshelves to know how Joe composes most of his songs. But changes her mind to find Jake outside. She soon found him who is wet knowing of his job to guard her who now asks him if he slept well but Jake tells her to be quiet. Jake suggested to have fishing in the lake and to work on her job. The player tells him if only there is an internet connection much to his disappointment. Jake soon changes her mind by walking together at the forest which she accepts and Jake decided to go for a quick shower so that he would go with her for a forest walk.
While walking around in the forest, this is where Jake asked the player about her ex-boyfriend Ashton and how they met each other. The player reveals that she met Ashton at Harvard University and they started their relationship during their junior years in college. When she asks Jake about the same question, Jake tells her that he is more focused on his work stating that any women had no space for him. Until the time the player asks him if he is in love which he confirms that he is, much to her surprise while thinking about between him and Ashton. As soon as she tried to ask another love question, Jake dodges the question when he humorously tells her that he's going to kill her after he tells her about his feelings for his beloved. After spending the entire time walking at the forest, the player finally prepares their food for dinner as Jake arrives after taking the shower, much to the player's attraction which she asks him to help her in the kitchen which he accepts. Here, this is where Jake reveals about how he learned his cooking skills from his mother and also he grew up in New York after the player finally tells him about her family life in Portland, Oregon. She also knows that Jake is a reliable person even he is not tired and wants to help her. He also admits that it's hard to cook food due to his current occupation. He then decides to prepare a table for both of them. The player prepares her Basque chicken for their dinner and became tense when Jake tastes the food. She daydreams about her and Jake are dancing the bailalaka dance while having their exquisite dinner during their travels in Moscow. Jake apparently wakes her up from her daydream and he stated that her cooking is delicious as the player pretends she was tired. As Jake asked her if she is about to go to bed, the player reveals her ruse and the food she made is the Basque chicken and to Jake's amusement knowing of the player's taste in French food and also asks her if she is a part French. The player soon explains about her mother's expertise in making western cuisine and has a weak spot for French food in France only she can't get back to Portland due to being aerophobic until Jake responds about their Moscow adventure especially if he can guard her whenever they travel to Paris. As they done eating their dinner for tonight, Jake soon asked the player about her hobbies and the player reveals her love of reading books in which Jake teases her for being a bookworm. By the time the player remembers about her mother, she felt upset and emotional and Jake was concerned for her well being. She wanted to clean up the dishes but Jake tells her that he can take care of it which led her to tell him that she is about to go to bed and she gave Jake a friendly hug before she went upstairs. Once she goes upstairs, she was crying when she misses her mother very much. Back at Joe's room, the player is about to get dressed to her sleepwear. Only to get accidentally stuttered by Jake who sees her in a bra, much to their embarrassment as she put her tank top back on. Jake allows the player to borrow his phone so that she can contact her mother in Portland. As Jake leaves to clean the dishes, the player became curious to find out more about Jake's life and she contacted her mom, it fails and she instead gave her a voicemail. Then, she calls Lisa and learning that she was drinking at Starlite and being hit on other men. The player reacts when Lisa heckles about Jake as she hang up after they had talked in a few minutes. She soon gets down to see Jake who is surprised when he cleans up the dishes as she gave his phone back to him, showing compassionate to the player when he asked her if she had called her mom. The player informs him that she calls her mom but it never answer and instead gave her a voicemail, much to his sadness and he apologize. The player tells him that it's all right and she thanked him for borrowing his phone for her before she went back upstairs for a goodnight sleep. The next day, she reads the novel called "Dangerous Liasions" while Jake is outside at the deck of the barn, contacting Ryan and he was furious because of the investigation was not move forward. He soon went to see the player who asks him about Ryan. Jake was surprised and he reveals that he's great but the investigation has not moved forward and decided to stay together for a few days. Both briefly had a pillow fight and tickling each other in excitement but Jake backs away for getting uncomfortable knowing that he can't get so close to the player. He also gives the player a new phone as a gift which he makes it up for her for breaking her cellphone and was joyful to have a new phone. Jake also reveals that her new phone is untraceable and he is able to recover her phone number so her mother can reach her. He gave her an advice to be discreet and never talked about this barn. The player joyfully hugs at Jake and thanking him for giving her a new cellphone. Jake then decides to make dinner for them by making a lasagna, much to her excitement. She finally had a hot shower while Jake cooks their dinner and always prepared at the coffee table. Unfortunately, she slips on the ground when she feels the water was too cold. She noticed Jake was there. He asked her if she is okay which she confirms and she tells him that the water becomes cold. Jake soon apologizes, informing her about the heat tanker at the kitchen much to her disappointment. After getting dressed, she meets up with Jake at the couch and they eat dinner. This is where Jake asked the player about how she was promoted as a CFO. The player reveals that it was Gabriel who shows her to Carter Corp and was originally recruited as a accountant manager. Then, she became a senior accountant followed by as an assistant CFO and lastly this is how she was promoted as a CFO when the previous employee retires from this post and she met Ryan when she was about to get her promotions. Jake knows that she was close to Ryan only to correct him that she treats Ryan as her mentor rather than a boyfriend and the player noticed both him and Ryan are having disagreements. Jake also reveals to her about how he met Ryan for the first time. Being in a drunken state, the player nearly collapses as Jake catches her on time. He soon helped her take her back at Joe's room to get some sleep. Therefore, Jake unexpectedly kisses the player, showing his interest in her which led both of them are making out and this is how they started their sexual relationship. Because of her desire to be with Jake and continued each other to get intimate, Jake stops her when she is about to unbuckle his belt after they took off both of their sweaters. She scolds him not to treat her motherly and both continued to kiss each other again, leading them to have sex for the first time and to the player's delight. Once she pretends she was asleep after they made love for each other, Jake decides to leave the room to pick up his clothes as the player was asking him where he is going which Jake coldly replies that he will sleep at the couch, much to her disappointment. Noticing that Jake was regretful to have a love affair with the player whom he tries to protect her from any harm's way.
In Chapter 6 following their first romantic affair, the player wakes up as the sun is about to rise. She remembers about her romantic affair with Jake only for him to leave her away. She soon texted Lisa about this fiasco until she calls her immediately. She then asks her if Jake acts like a jerk or he was hiding something which she answered that he was hiding something and hang out. This might be the reason why Jake acting distant to anybody. As she wears only a sweater yesterday, she sees Jake who cooks French toast for breakfast as they meet each other within their gaze. Here, this is where Jake reveals how uncomfortable he was last night when he gave in to her temptations during their romantic affair especially about his experiences in the army before being recruited by Ryan. With that, Jake suggested to have a horseback riding which she initially accepts only she changes his suggestion to walk on a forest instead. Once she gets back at the room, she noticed that Jake does not want to speak about what happened between them last night as a topic so she decided to avoid it for the time being. While walking around the forest, the player noticed his actions just like last night in which they spoke about it. Here, Jake reveals that he dislikes close relations after he had a romantic affair with the player last night which is why he was disappointed because of his bodyguard job. The player reassures him that it was only just the two of us and there's nothing wrong between their respective jobs since she was targeted by armed men. Jake had no choice but to accept and the player states is just passion and tempting, much to Jake's bashfulness. As they stopped walking from the forest side, the player noticed the dark cloudy sky which causes a thunder storm. Jake decided to challenges her to sprinting back to the barn which she accepts. Since Jake is too fast for her, she gets exhausted due to her lack of endurance and Jake helps her up. Due to the heavy downpours on the storm, both are now getting wet and Jake was stuck on some tree branches and was helped by the player in the same way. Both then had a brief mud throw against each other and they embrace due to their closeness. But Jake backs away due to his dislike of close relations and decided to get themselves back to the barn. Returning back at the barn and despite Jake's jacket to cover themselves not to get wet any further, Jake let the player stay at the wood stove so that he could light up the fire to make them warm. Although, he tells her to stay put since he's making a hot tea for her. When Jake decided to get some blanket because the player is chilling cold, he called someone on his phone. However, the player went upstairs to see that Jake was indeed calling someone on the phone and pretending that he got a blanket, much to her anger for being pretentious. She stomps away sarcastically to take shower which surprises Jake. As soon as she takes off her clothes to take a hot shower to warm herself up, Jake comes here too who begins to undress, decided to join with her. The player asks him of why he is here and he complies that she needs him. He then join with her to take a shower together and the player was mad for his lies. Because of his pretentious side not to know about him more, Jake soon asks her if he is gentler which the player nods in agreement when he is about to get intimate with her at the hot shower of the tub, leading them to have sex for the second time and the player noticed that Jake is more powerful than the last time she had an affair with him for the first time. Afterwards, they relaxed in the tub for a few minutes while Jake cradles on her arms. He soon leaves the tub to get some towel to dry themselves and the player begins to like Jake's softer side.
Jake later suggested the player to wear a black dress which she does after they finally get dressed. He decided to take her to lunch somewhere and he reveals that he wanted to celebrate the player's birthday with just a single date and to the player's excitement. On the way, she also reveals that she dislikes to be center of attention to her friends and family while Jake also reveals he never had a birthday throughout his life with his family. As they dine in Filipo, an Italian restaurant, they masquerade themselves as a married couple only for the waiter to ask them so many questions until he made a racist comment to the player about who she is which she angrily lashes her out for being an American. Jake came to her defense and berating the waiter of why he has no customers on his restaurant because of his racist comments, leading the latter to apologize immediately and decided to give them some free wine to serve them. After the nice conversation since Jake knew about the player's birth date in secret, the waiter serve them some food as Jake orders the beef ravioli while the player is a salmon linguine and both are enjoy eating together. Their romantic moment suddenly interrupts when Ashton had called her on her phone as Jake thinks it was important to her like her mother. The player then moves away and receives his call (As Lisa was the one who gave him her phone number from her new smartphone so that he could contact her right away). Ashton greets her happy birthday which she thanked him to remember her birthday. This is where it causes a conflict between Jake and Ashton as he tries to make a surprise for her at her apartment who supposed to live with her together. It was a bad idea if she gives in to his words until she tells him that she would think about it. However, when Ashton is trying to renew his love to the player saying that he loves her, the player became more conflicted even more especially when Jake is with her together. She soon tells Jake that it was Ashton who called her, leading him to get tense and she decided to meet him at New York and there's nothing wrong between her and Ashton. Jake agrees and pays their bill and leave. On the way, the player learns that Jake was clearly jealous upon mentioning about Ashton which Jake sadly asks if she still loves Ashton causing her not to answer his question and Jake drives to New York in a cold way. Back at her apartment, she was given a birthday surprise from both Ashton and Lisa. Despite she gave Lisa a friendly hug, Ashton hugged her amorously and the player was uncomfortable to his unusual personality. She believes that her apartment was cleaned up job made by Ryan following the attack and Ashton tells her that it was him who cleaned up everything in her absence. He tells her that she should tell him about the burglary since she tells Gabriel about the white lie about the mess not knowing that she was targeted by the Russian mobsters. The player also tells them to know Jake as Ashton recognizes that he is Ryan's bodyguard. When both shake hands together Jake becomes tense to see him not until the player remarks about him being her bodyguard causing Jake to become uncomfortable and to Ashton's annoyance and it was a way not to say it to him about her being targeted by the Russian mobs. As Ashton finally serves the cater and to the enjoyment to both Lisa and the player because of the roasted chicken being scrumptious, Ashton finally asks Jake about his former job career which he reveals it and Ashton displays his arrogance over his job career. Not long until the player made horrible remarks about Ashton for more focus on his job career than a romantic relationship, much to Jake's amusement. However, Jake became even more jealous than before when the player reveals herself that she was still close to Ashton when they touch even the latter had immediately bumped onto her and spilling her dress and decided to get changed. As she is about to changes her clothes, Ashton has a surprise for her. When he opens the door, he saw her in her underwear, much to her embarrassment while the latter back away. As the player now dresses up in a simpler one, this is where Ashton changes his expression from timid to attraction when he get aroused over the player's sexiness. He then opens the closet and gives the player a birthday gift which happens to be a music box. Although she was getting uncomfortable to his unusual side of him while trying to thanking him emotionally for giving her the music box which Ashton tells her that he had been bought this at the auction site for months and decided to keep this in case of her birthday. The player also knows him about Jake for being so jealous upon his presence and decides to get back to the living room to meet both Jake and Lisa. Back at the living room, Lisa thinks Ashton had made her cry while scolding him as the player corrects her that he just gave her a music box and it was a memento for her grandmother. Lisa then gave her a birthday gift as well. To her horrible shock and embarrassment, she gave her a sex toy and for Ashton's dismay until Lisa explains her reasons of buying that toy because of the player's closeness with Jake as her explanation manages to blow their cover and to Jake's fury, directly ordering the player to say goodbye to both of them. Once they get inside the car, Jake was furious because of Lisa for blowing their cover in which he doesn't want to say this to the player despite the latter being insistent to know because of his cold and distant behavior, telling her to get some sleep. Before she falls asleep, she noticed that Jake was angry and furious. She later had a dream with Ashton and Jake and she loves Jake more than her ex-boyfriend. Jake soon wakes the player up once they arrived back at Joe's barn and telling her that no more scenes in real life and focusing more on stricter professional relationship, much to the player's disappointment and upset. Not just her remarks about him being her personal bodyguard but Lisa had also blown their cover of their romantic relationship.
Back at the barn in Chapter 7, the player finally confronts Jake who wanted to know about the stricter professional relationship which he answers her question not until he angrily dodges her question. Clearly, Jake was jealous because of Ashton and the reason why he decided to keep distance with her because he doesn't want to become a third party with Ashton especially about the music box he gave her. The player was emotionally angered at him for his jealousy and telling him that the music box is the most important to her dearly and the music box is a memento to her late grandmother. Jake was horribly shock after hearing of her words. He soon changes his behavior when he finally kisses to her, leading them to get intimate and passionately have sex together as the player confesses her love to Jake, much to his delight. After they had sex, the player decided to leave him on the couch so that she can rest on the room but Jake stops her, whispering her to stay and the player simply agrees and both are sleeping together at the couch. The next day, the player wakes up and noticing it was almost at noon and went to see Jake who cooks her for brunch but telling her never to speak about the awful night yesterday. As soon as he had a phone call, someone knocks the door as the player get dressed and the one who responded it. It was a woman pass by and asking about Jake's whereabouts. The player was annoyed at her questions while trying to blocking her way. But the woman sneaks in and hugs Jake as a reunion much to her horrible shock. The player became so jealous. Not just Jake who got jealous towards Ashton but she herself also jealous because of the woman who keeps getting close to Jake. Jake let both girls to eat brunch so that they can socialize each other one-on-one. With that, the player wants to know who she is. Jake introduces the woman named Carrie Kang as her surname becomes Dartieu during the introduction and she was the best detective of the country. Carrie then throws an orange on Jake who soon catches it in a quick reflex. Carrie also knows the player very well because she was mainly targeted by the culprit they tried to expose of especially she knows about Jake's secrets causing Jake to scold her to shut her mouth. The player became questionable between both Carrie and Jake and wanting to know if Carrie is the same caller that Jake had talked into his phone. While eating their brunch, this is where Carrie reveals to the player about Jake's other occupation where he keeps hiding it from her. Despite being an infantryman in the US army, he was a former US government agent prior to being hired by Ryan as their chauffeur causing Jake to get mad at her revelations. Because of these revelations the player decided not to eat any longer and went upstairs. Jake tries to stop her from walking away but the player tells him that she needs space. After taking a hot shower and getting dressed, she finally went downstairs and overhearing that both Jake and Carrie are talking which she informs him that the player has to know more from his not keeping secrets. Jake also tells her that he hides this from her because he wanted to protect her. As soon as she arrives to see them, they stopped talking as Carrie reveals the investigation about Aleksei as she found the ticket six months ago that he is white as snow causing Jake to get irritated as the player remains doubted to their words of why Aleksei would have done such a thing. Carrie tells her that appearances are often misleading.
Carrie and Jake also learns that the man who commit suicide turns out that he was murdered and he is one of the employees of the nuclear industry. Jake also noticed that his employer Ryan might be involved in the conspiracy of the Russian embezzlement scam because his company in Carter had secret laboratories which causes him to get irritated. The player was annoyed after learning that her boss was involved in the illegal activity only for Jake to calm her down. She keeps defending her boss due to her loyalty to him and decided to leave them both. Back at the room, she wanted both of them would give them some space. Apparently, she also shows her dislike on Carrie's closeness to Jake. She soon calls the Carter Corp main front desk to contact Colin regarding about the investigation. Colin receives her call and informing her that he never found the evidence of what she had been looking for. Here, the player informs Colin about Carrie and he was surprised to know that she's a former government agent. He tells her that Carrie usually keeps her real identity a secret due to her occupation in the government. The player now informs him that Ryan was involved in the Russian investigation scam after being suspected by Carrie, much to his horrible shock. Colin tells the player that he would look into it and giving him a much bigger reward which she accepts. As soon as she hangs up her cellphone, the player keeps staring on the music box being given by Ashton as a gift and she tries to compare between her workaholic side to the woman she used to be now, reminiscing the days where she more focus on her career and Ashton tries his best to help her but she constantly refuses and it was stopped by Gabriel when he brought some Chinese food for dinner. The player had never forgiven herself of why Ashton had broke up with her in the beginning because of her constant refusal of his help and always blaming him on her faults. When she hear some noises, she wanted to confront both Jake and Carrie downstairs, but she could not because she remains angry with both of them. While pretending she was asleep, Jake came to see her to check upon her while trying to comfort her after hearing of their revelations. However, her phone vibrates and Jake noticed that Ashton had texted her especially about the music box he gave her causing him to leave the room violently. The player sees Ashton's message stating about last night but she never responded nor reply to his message because he was the one who caused Jake to get angry. After downloading the chess game app and always loses, the player was hungry after all since she lost appetite due to their revelations. As she gets downstairs, she noticed that both never clean up the dishes after eating. She remembers that Jake was angry when she receives a text message from Ashton and felt stupid for letting them do what they have to do. As she gets the bacon and scramble eggs for dinner and put it in the microwave to cook and cleaning up the dishes, she noticed something going on outside of the barn. There, she saw both Jake and Carrie outside having a sparring match together and the player mistook them for having sex and became completely jealous. Both of them are utilizing MMA or military combat techniques used during their days as a government agent. The player was relieved to see them doing these combat sports instead of romantic bed sport she had meant about. Both continued to spar, and Carrie overpowers Jake. Before she could check at him, Jake counters her only for Carrie to kick him in the head, knocking him out and the player noticed that Jake begins to show his fatigue and being tired that's why Carrie beats him in a spar. Carrie also knows his weakness because of Jake's lack of reflex when he became a chauffeur until she reveals his feelings to the player. Jake justifies that the player is already with Ashton but she never became attracted to him following of giving her the music box. Carrie continues to reason with Jake about his relationship with the player as well as his true self but Jake refuses to answer. Not knowing that the player had eavesdropped their conversation since Jake had confided with Carrie when they talk about him. Carrie decided to leave as Jake tells her to stay because driving at night was dangerous only for her to tell him that she can. After hearing their conversation, the player decided to hide at the kitchen then at the living room. While hiding from both of them, she continued to overhear of their conversation regarding about Jake's real self. As Carrie leaves them, the player then goes back to the room to pack her things. Fearing about Jake's true side for being a dangerous person, she hides her things when he arrives at the room, comforting her. As Jake decided to take a shower, the player decided to escape the barn, putting her luggage at the back of the car but the car keys are missing, forcing the player to find around the barn as well as Jake's clothes he usually wears. She soon sneaks through the bathroom where Jake is taking the shower and succeeds in snitching his car keys. She looked at the naked Jake one last time, complimenting about his naked body while in a shower, remembering the times they had showered together. She immediately get out of the bathroom and the room itself once Jake finishes showering. She soon drives his car to escape because of her fear of Jake's other personality for being violent and dangerous.
Returning to New York in Chapter 8, the player decided to go to Carter Corp to check knowing that Ryan had tell his employees that she was taking a few days of vacation. She encounters Lisa on the way who is insisting to know between her and Jake. Once she reaches to her office, Aleksei is messing her office who is finding the files supposed to be sent by Ryan which is the account balance. The player was suspicious over his actions until her phone vibrates which happens to be Jake who called her earlier, leaving Aleksei to get out of her office. The player tells him that he forget about his account balance files which he gets it. As Aleksei leaves, the player was dismayed and upset with full of doubts, wondering if both Jake and Carrie were telling the truth about their investigation on Aleksei as she looked at the documents that Aleksei was searching and realizing that he had looked on the financial files of their main headquarters in America. Finally realized that Aleksei is truly suspicious and shady, seeing that he was responsible and trying to conceal his villainous nature towards her. After giving emails to her co-workers, she decided to leave the company and asking Lisa to have a drink and to give an address to the hotel to stay since she will go to Matt at Starlite. As she drives Jake's car to the hotel they used to stay, she went to the reception to check-in and was frequently received calls from Jake who finally answers it. The player was disappointed to his angry reaction, probably because of her actions of carjacking his car to escape back to New York and now he wants to know where she was. Because she keeps complaining about his actions especially his conversation with Carrie, she gets the card key to her hotel room and hanging up. Ignoring on Jake's frequent calls, the player finally stays the same hotel room that Jake used to stay. She refreshen herself up by taking the shower and rest, remembering of her actions in the barn as well as her closeness with Jake. Lisa knocks the door to visit her and they converse about her relationship with Jake. The only advice Lisa gave her is to protect herself which the player noticed to defend herself from Jake. As Lisa asks her to come at Starlite because of Matt but she refused knowing she needs a time off and trying to make up for it next time. Lisa gave her a kiss on her forehead and leave. The player became comfortable after getting visited until someone knocks the door. She thinks that it was Lisa who returned to get something she had forgotten about. As soon as she open the door, she noticed that Jake was in front of her, getting dismayed over his intimidating presence. The player questions of why he is here and noticing of how he tracks her down with her phone and both had argue because of his bodyguard job. The player then takes him inside of her hotel room to continue their argument until Jake reveals that he was afraid of losing her. Since he calmed down when she flirts him, she finally apologizes for her actions and Jake warns her never to do it again and all he wanted for her is to take pleasure which she does and they make out. Both finally get intimate while taking in a wild romantic moments. At one point, the player wanted to tell Jake about Aleksei but he refused and they continued getting intimate until Jake made love to her during their wild romantic moments of being together and he stated that the player was delicious when he had sex with her.
Despite their romantic moments as the player wanted to know more from Jake, Jake finally opens up about his prescription drug addiction and how he became friends with Carrie during the war in Afghanistan prior to their leave in the military service and she was the one who helped him to overcome his drug addiction. He evenly asked if she is jealous to Carrie which she refused. She later tells Jake about Aleksei, realizing that he and Carrie were telling the truth and she had caught him getting her papers on her office and seeing him getting uncomfortable after being caught by her. Jake then tells her that he will ask Carrie to dig more investigation about Aleksei, stating that he was sketchy. The player apologizes for doubting both him and Carrie and Jake accepts stating that they need to stick together so that he would look out for her. Although, she resisted his temptations after this, informing him that she has to go to Matt and Lisa at Starlite and telling him that she would wear a dress that would attract him once they get there and Jake reluctantly accepts to go with her. After taking the shower, both went to Starlite but Jake remains unsure of himself only for the player to rebuff him nicely. Inside, they see Lisa waiting for Matt alone as they meet. She also informs them that both Matt and Gabriel are competing each other in finding a girl to be suited for them. Lisa evenly joked if they failed to seduce or flirt any women, they might ended up getting old, making them laugh. As they buy drinks, Jake was called upon by Joe who wanted to see him again and he let the player and Lisa to come as well. Joe also let the two bouncers pass the two women and they meet him at the VIP lounge. Jake's friendship with Joe is also displayed when they give them a friendly hug and Joe introduces himself to the girls. Despite Lisa's interest to Joe, Jake thanked him for using his barn as a safe place for them which he tells him not to worry. The player then goes out of the VIP lounge to see Gabriel keeps seducing with a red haired woman, noticing the competition between him and Matt. As Joe had a conversation with Jake, the player decided to buy non-alcoholic beverages but Jake stops her and refused to let her leave especially she politely refused to Joe's offer when he decided to refill the bottle of champagne. Therefore, she saw Matt being blocked by Murray one of the bouncers who refused him to gain entry to the VIP lounge. The player tries to convince them but failed as Joe scolds him, allowing Matt to get in. The player wonders that both Matt and Joe are friends as Matt reveals that Joe is also a friend of his brother Daryl Ortega. Despite Matt's dirty jokes since the player wouldn't like to drink alcohol, she looked at Jake once again and both begins to get close and kiss due to their romantic attraction. However, the player was flabbergasted to see Gabriel was trying to stop both her and Jake from kissing each other. The player sees him because he truly cares about Ashton and decides to find a wingman which is her since both him and Matt continued their competition to flirt sexy women. Jake watches the player nicely when Gabriel fails to flirt one woman who slapped him and he stated that his night with Matt is a disaster and offers the player to dance once the music changed into a Latin theme. The two dance until the song changes to a sensual one. The player thinks that Jake was jealous to see them dancing but it turns out that he's not jealous and seeing Gabriel is a colleague of hers. As Gabriel disappears, she now looked at Jake who decided to dance with her. Once the DJ played a salsa song which sounded like a kizomba, Jake and the player finally had an intimate dance and to the surprise of both Gabriel and Lisa. After this, Jake was asking if they decided to get back to the hotel which she reluctantly accepts. Because of their romantic desires, they decided to leave and to their surprise, Gabriel succeeds in flirting the brunette woman from earlier. After getting the taxi and return back to the hotel as they reach to the elevator, Jake is revealed to be romantically crazed and becoming aggressive to the player. As soon as they reached to the hotel room, they continued their wild make love sessions as Jake is the one who strips himself to naked to make the player getting aroused as well as he quickly took off both her dress and lingerie to make her naked so that he could have sex with her. Jake clearly stated that she was exquisite when he had sex with her and afterwards, both ended up getting asleep in a few minutes. Therefore, Jake lets the player to stay in bed while going on a defensive, gun in hand. He gets the letter at the doorstep. The player soon looked at the photos inside of the letter and realizing that she and the rest of her co-workers have been marked in red targets, implying that they were targeted. Jake soon reassures her that she will be okay since he was around until the player blames herself for her screw-ups and her stupidity and recklessness. Jake also considers it was his fault as well because he let his guard down when he became so close to the player this is why he dislikes close relations due to his bodyguard job. As the two are about to kiss, they were called by their respective cellphones. Jake was called by Carrie regarding about Aleksei and his motives while the player was called by Gabriel, informing her that Ryan was attacked by the Russian armed men last night while his confidential files and his main computer were taken and hacked. He also seen Aleksei is trying to help Ryan but the latter managed to bring his squad first before him. The player became serious because of their true motives and finally informs Gabriel to get the address of the hospital to visit Ryan.
In Chapter 9, both Jake and the player arrived at the hospital to see Ryan. As Jake being contacted, the player visits Ryan at the patient room where she saw him getting dressed. It reveals that Ryan suffers minor injuries and he also let Aleksei to chase the three men away. He orders the player to get them safe but she refused until Jake arrives regarding about the attack at Carter Corp. The player knows that she has to get back at the barn but Jake tells her it is no longer safe and Joe had informed him about these mobsters who was mistaken as her, much to her horror. Joe is able to subdue one of the mobsters as Jake had tell her. Ryan then orders Jake to interrogate of what organization he had come from which he accepts. The player was dismayed because neither Ryan nor Jake would listen to her warnings. Once Ryan leaves the hospital without being checked by the doctors and being called by Aleksei for the meeting, he leaves both Jake and the player behind. The player became concern at Jake who finally passionately kisses her, telling her not to worry and Joe needs him at his barn. The player is also concerned about his drug addiction where Jake might torture on one of the mobsters. With no other choice, Jake leaves her while driving his car to go to Joe's barn. The player then calls Ashton who immediately received it, getting worried over her presence. She wanted to meet him at his tiny apartment but Ashton tells her he cannot due to his apartment is not yet furnished. The player had no choice but to meet him at her apartment, leading Ashton to finish his errands and wants to dinner date with her. The player was disappointed about him as she had wanted him to discuss about their past relationship is already over and Ashton himself does wanted to get back with her after he had broke her up in the beginning. With that, the player takes in the opposite direction to buy groceries to prepare dinner at the apartment before Ashton arrives. After cooking lasagna on time, texting Jake about his condition and getting dressed into her black cocktail dress, a doorbell rings as she opens the door to see Ashton in a tuxedo. They spend their dinner night while reminiscing their days of their past relationship where both are eating and drinking with their own bare hands and sleeping together on the floor. As the player gets the pitcher of water, Ashton gets it too, resulted him getting spilled on his tuxedo and letting him go to the bathroom to clean himself up and the player prepares cookies for dessert along with two coffee as Ashton's closeness to the player had caused her to get more uncomfortable. As the player prepares a cup of coffee, she drops it to see Ashton in shirtless. But became uncomfortable to see him getting too close to her and eventually rejecting his romantic advances after backing away from him. Ashton thinks that he had visited her just to get back together but the player rebuffs him that she already moved on and she wanted to stop him for doing all this. She noticed that Ashton gets inside the bathroom and became angrily frustrated because she is already with Jake which she confirms. Ashton eventually accepts her rejection and decided to go home and she noticed how hard he was trouble to understand when it comes to relationship. Therefore, Ashton was shot in the thorax by one of the Russian mobsters and eventually collapses, causing the player to come to his aid. The player examines the living room and to see that half of her window is wide open and the reason why Ashton got shot from a sniper rifle, she immediately calls 911 for help and trying to support the injured Ashton who is now weak due to blood loss. At the hospital, she was visited by Gabriel and she gave her tearful hug as a reunion. She also explains to Gabriel about what happened to Ashton and Gabriel was not impressed on her jokes, showing his concern to his friends rather than the woman he hangs out at Starlite. The doctor who operated at Ashton came to see them, informing them about Ashton being in a stable condition but his organs needs to be repaired because of the damage it was taken from getting shot once they removed the bullet on his thorax and the player will be asking questions about the authorities. The player was horrified after learning of Ashton's condition and she couldn't bring it up if Ashton would die from his injuries. She then calls Ryan instead of Jake which he receives it. She informs him about what happened to Ashton which horribly surprises Ryan who learns that their enemy is involved on their investigation. But since she was about to be questioned by the authorities, Ryan instructs her of what she would say to their interrogation. Afterwards, Gabriel offers her to stay at his apartment after being questioned by the authorities. The player noticed how hard about Ryan's instructions to pretend as a damsel in distress. She was also deeply emotional since her cocktail dress is still stained in Ashton's blood and Gabriel consoles her even she can't stand of his dark humor. He gave her his t-shirt to her so that she can clean herself up by taking the shower on his bathroom. Hours later, the player wakes up after having a nightmare about the incident especially she still remembers of what happened to Ashton. Due to her cellphone battery is getting emptied, she uses Gabriel's number to send it to the doctors to find out about Ashton's well being at the hospital. As she gets water at the fridge, she saw Gabriel continued his work on his computer as she humorously asks him if he is working or just watching porn causing Gabriel to get shock and grabs the pillow and throws it to her which she dodges. Gabriel knows how humorous she is until she asks him about the time where Ashton got shot. Gabriel tells her that it's already late and the night becomes dawn. She remains emotionally upset after she apologizes to Gabriel about using his number to be sent by the doctors so that she will know about Ashton's current condition. Although, Gabriel cheers her up, stating that she did the right thing and he will take care of it since she and Ashton are his old friends in college. He then challenging her into a chess game which she is not sure if she can beat him. Gabriel wanted to show how good she is to play the game. The player accepts his challenge since she had been playing a chess game app from her phone when she had stayed at Joe's barn. Now that she knows about the interrogation about the intruder at Joe's barn, her dinner with Ashton comes into a bloody mess and getting questioned by the authorities because of Ryan's instructions.
During the chess game, Gabriel tries to make the player admit between Ashton and Jake as a distraction which she opens up about it. She no longer had feelings for Ashton as she treats him like a real friend and seeing him trying to get back together with her and he was feeling close to her was temporary not until Gabriel asking her about her closeness with Jake which she told him everything. As Gabriel wins, the player considers her winning the game because of answering most of his questions which actually clears her mind completely. The next day, she still thinking between Jake and Ashton and her chess game with Gabriel. Once she goes to the living room, she noticed that Gabriel had went to Carter Corp. Suddenly, her phone rings despite her cellphone battery is already emptied. She receives a call from Jake who is worried for her. She informs him about what happened to Ashton which Jake knew it was coming from Ryan. Upon learning that one of the mobsters couldn't answer about who's responsible for the attack, the player was disappointed because it was all for nothing until Jake asks her why Ashton is with her, displaying his colder side and being jealous. The player calms him down when she tells him that she had already clear up between her and Ashton from their former relationship and why he was there to talk with her at dinner on their apartment and she had wanted to let him know to open up about himself. Jake decided to meet her at the cafe to talk privately about their lives. Just as she wanted to know more about Jake, he immediately hung her up, much to her disappointment. At the coffee shop and despite her liking towards Jake when she arrived, he was mad at her, leading to their arguments regarding about her staying at her apartment. It reveals that Jake shows more of his hostility to the player because of his jealousy towards Ashton and trying to force the player to tell him the truth which she does. She calls Ashton to have a dinner on her apartment so that she will tell him to move on to their former relationship but Ashton misunderstood into thinking he wanted to reconcile with her. And the reason he was in shirtless because he was getting close to her but she rejects his romantic advances which he accepts until he got shot by a sniper when he is about to get dressed at the bathroom. Jake fully understands since he never get answers from the mobster he got subdued from Joe at his barn. As the player wanted to know from Jake who he really is, Jake stops her until she mentioned about his conversation with Carrie, much to his shock. She then receives a call from Colin regarding about Ryan's investigation and stated that they have been wronged. He tells the player to meet at his apartment to know more about the information he had found. At the entrance at Colin's apartment, they continued their dispute regarding about Jake's conversation with Carrie after their sparring match until Colin meets them who soon frowns to see them arguing. He let them enter his apartment while the player complimenting about the interior of his apartment. He soon tells her about their personal investigation regarding about these attacks from the mobsters as Jake decided to call Carrie on his landline. The player tells Colin that Carrie is Jake's friend, much to his amusement and happiness so that he will informed her everything about their enemy's true motives. As Carrie listens to Colin on the phone, he angrily reveals of what he had found was fake and the man who committed suicide was just a straw man and the money had had embezzled didn't go into his accounts. Carrie wants to know about his information and Colin also reveals that he had followed the trail of the name, The Bratva which is a Russian mafia group and Jake recognizes them. The player wanted to know from both Jake and Carrie if he knew about this group but Colin cuts them off, telling them that he made a requests to other hackers that they're were dealing a very powerful Russian mafia group within its branch and the player knows how they organized the attack and Colin angrily knows their motives is to destroy the entire country of the United States. As Jake tries to suspect Ryan got involved on this and to the shock of both Colin and the player, Carrie tells him that they're right not to suspect Ryan and informs them that she will dig more information regarding about the Russian mafia group. It was then Jake knew that Carter Corp is multinational because of many branches had been established and Colin informs them that there's no criminal records in the Moscow branch. As Jake wanted to know more who is behind it, Colin tells him about his opinion that there's a strong possibility that someone from the Moscow branch had contacts with the Russian mafia after they were hired. As soon as they tried to suspect Aleksei, Colin knows he only just get a speeding ticket and no records about him as Carrie tries to investigate him too stating that the Russian mafia just made him a scapegoat. The player tells them both that Aleksei might get involved with the group since he sneaks through her office and her instincts telling her to beware of him. She knows his motives that he might set up an attack to win over Ryan's trust and playing the hero causing Colin to realize that Ryan was really in danger. Colin tries to contact Ryan but failed as the player also tried to contact Gabriel but also failed which forces Colin to go to Carter Corp due to both are still in the meeting. He was stopped when Carrie was still on the line, informing him to exchange intel together which he accepts before he hung up. As they get of the apartment, the player tells Colin to inform Gabriel to contact her which he accepts. As Colin leaves, the player wanted to tell Jake more about his life rather than going back to her apartment. Jake then decided to stay at the hotel. Despite her annoyance of staying at the hotel, Jake evenly suggested to stay at Joe's barn but she decided to go far from New York. Therefore, Jake soon opens up about his past life which he could not bring himself to explain it to the player upon mentioning his late younger sister Emma Baumann when he treats Carrie as his little sister, much to her shock. Emma dies of drowning in the pool when he was eight years old and he couldn't watch her. His mother Mrs. Stewart tells him not to blame about Emma's death since she became a shadow of herself and Jake's father, Mr. Stewart was a different story. After the death of his mother, Jake and Carrie were recruited as a government agents who served as spies to the enemy and this is how he was recruited in Afghanistan. Jake also reveals of why Carrie tries to help him overcame his drug addiction and he merciless torture and kill the person when he interrogates them which also causes his past nightmare. Now she learns of this, Jake tries to tell her that he's going to leave after learning of his past life. Instead of answering his question, the player kisses Jake and they continued kissing each other passionately. They seem to talk something in profession when Jake asks her if she is afraid of him which she answers that she's not afraid of him and she is willing to take the risk while they were together until they stripped themselves. She noticed the patch on Jake's waistline which Jake tells her not to ask about it. As soon as they get naked, Jake makes love to the player who is now excited and getting enjoyed on his romantic indulgence as she stated that Jake is more different than Ashton whenever they get close to her. Hours later while Jake was asleep, the player remains guilty regarding about two days ago, Ryan was attacked then Ashton got sniped and Jake was telling the truth that she was taken lightly because of her naivety. She gets up and gets some water to drink, displaying her naked side until she sees a helicopter lighting up. Then, she sees a box as she opens to see his passport and other things, learning that Jake had been lying to her all this time and Jake himself wouldn't tell her about his real identity being Jack Baumann which it was seen on his passport. The player who is doubtful questions Jake who is asleep if he is really someone else who made loved to her or just an illusion and wanted to know more who he really is.
In Chapter 10, the player had left Jake at the hotel because of his lies and went to the coffee shop to ease up her stresses. She frequently receives calls and messages from Jake regarding about his real identity and documents within that box. The player ignores it as she orders espresso from the waiter whom she apologizes for her behavior. As she loves drinking the espresso she had been ordered, she is about to throw her phone if Jake continues to call her. But to her surprise, the call is from Colin who wanted to see her in his IT office instead of talking to their cellphones because of the enemy's motives. She then went to Carter Corp to see Lisa who shows her angry and annoyance because she was one of the targets of the Bratva then going to Colin to his IT office by elevator. It was soon revealed that Colin confides with Ryan regarding about their suspicions about Aleksei especially his background working at the textile company and some fur coats. The player also remembers Aleksei was wearing a fur coat when she is about to leave back to New York City. Therefore, Colin also reveals when she asks him to investigate Carrie as she asks him to investigate Jake, he knows that Carrie has been recruited by the government as an agent at the very young age of 20 and Carrie Dartieu is not her real name but Carrie Kang as she keeps her real identity in the web. The player also wanted to check her phone to Colin if it has a spy software which he did and he tells her that her phone is safe. He also needs more of Carrie's information at the government to find more details about Aleksei and his connection to the Bratva. He also reveals to the player was Jake is a government agent which is why he was recruited by Ryan to be hired as a bodyguard and seeing him investigating the latter if he gets involved with the group. The player was horribly shocked and surprised about this revelation and Colin knew that Jake is always taking missions at hand than anyone else besides Carrie and the player was stressed about this. She later receives a text message from Jake whom she replies that she already knows about his real identity and his true occupation. Back at the hotel, she slaps Jake for not telling him the truth and for his lies and he wanted to open up who he was and knowing it was dangerous for her to know. Despite comforting her for his secrecy, the player finally rejecting his romantic advances because she wanted to tell him the truth since she had already found out by Colin. Jake was impressed about Colin as a excellent hacker until he finally reveals his real name being Jack Baumann. Jake had made the decision to the player that she would call him Jake for safety but also calling his real name Jack if they were just the two of us. Jake also keeps his current mission as a government agent to the player because it was a top secret to take an undercover if its connected between Carter Corp or the Bratva and the player angrily scolds him for getting lose her patience. After arguments because of Jake's current job as a government agent and learning about Carrie is trying to keep distance between them because it is not allowed to have agents to have relationship with anybody, she received a call from Gabriel and informs her that Ashton was awakened from his coma, knowing of his survival from getting shot on the thorax and the player was relieved and decided to see him. Jake also tells her to be careful and knowing about Aleksei who runs away after learning of his target was still alive. and he also stated that Aleksei would resign his textile job and running away with the money because of the fake suicide he had made and what is the point of coming to the United States. Jake decided to contact Carrie to get connections on the hospital. Despite the unveil of his true name and his current job, Jake remains doubted to the player who is now confused which he decided to leave and the player remains upset.
At the apartment, she reunites with both Gabriel and Ashton who gave him some medicine as the doctors prescribe him. Gabriel then decided to leave to Carter Corp to work while joking at both of them. As the two converse, the player blames herself that she shouldn't invite Ashton at her apartment for dinner which Ashton replies that they're nothing to worry about until he asks her if she was with Jake which she confirms. Ashton was angry to see that he has no chance with her which he accepts. The player knew this is not the answer that Ashton was expecting which he decided to sleep on the couch due to the morphine had injected him. As he is about to get some sleep, the player put him a blanket as she watched him. As she decided to stay at Gabriel's apartment, she had a nightmare with Aleksei who eliminates everyone including Jake and shoots her down and was blacked out. The player wakes up on her nightmare and realizing that Aleksei was behind everything, the ambush at her on the airport and shooting Ashton at their apartment especially for attacking Ryan in order to get his trust. She scarily gasped when Gabriel arrives home and both are teasing each other. As they eat dinner with Ashton, they talked about their job professions once this entire crisis is over. Gabriel decided to take as the director in both Tokyo or Paris while Ashton decided not to get himself promoted, much to their surprise and it was enough for him to work in his job and the player wanted to work indefinitely as a CFO. It is revealed why Ashton is suffering great pain and being given medications prescribed by his doctors because of the bullet from the sniper rifle that was inflicted on him which affects either his kidney or his liver and asking the player to give him the medicine. As the player decided to leave back to the hotel, Ashton gritted at her that leaving was dangerous and Gabriel would take her home as Gabriel also says the same thing. She then receives a call from Carrie and learning about her location and decides to pick her up. As Carrie arrives, the player introduces her to Gabriel and despite his womanizing antics, it backfired which Carrie decided to take her back to the hotel she had currently stayed while Gabriel decided to look after Ashton on his road to recovery from his injury. She was later fetched by Carrie back to the hotel to meet up with Jake who stated that he had missed her and both are about to make love once again in a much more passionate way which Jake states to her it was delicious. The next day, the player wakes up and was greeted happily by him. When Jake reveals that he decided to quit his job as a government agent and starting a new life anew. She was overjoyed that Aleksei had returned to Russia because he was already been investigated by the authorities. Jake also wanted to find another job and the player does not wanted him to get fired because of this and wanted to reinstate him. Back at Gabriel's apartment, she visited both Gabriel and Ashton to tell them the good news. Unfortunately, she found out that both men were taken down from getting mauled and Gabriel warns her to get out of here. Aleksei arrives at the scene and holds the trio at gunpoint, unveiling himself being the leader of the Bratva, a powerful Russian mafia group which Colin had informed most hackers including Carrie to track them down and being investigated. The player attempts to warn Jake only to be pushed away by Aleksei who forces her to sit down and attacking her on the spot. Gabriel tries to stop him from keeping her at gunpoint only to be knock away by Aleksei. Ashton tries to protect the player despite the injuries had been sustained by one of his men and refuses to leave, Aleksei had no choice but to shoot him which horrifies the player. Realizing that she was the main target by Aleksei his group of Russian mafia, instead of killing her on the spot, he kidnaps her by putting a cloth on her nose and mouth to make her lose consciousness and Aleksei succeeds in kidnapping the player.
Back at Moscow within the final chapter of the story in the abandoned warehouse, the player wakes up and along with her is Carrie who is also subdued. She also learns that most of the Russian military including scientists are packing more firearms and ammunition until Aleksei came to see them. He attempts to get close to the player but she refused and was given a slap across her face. The player wants to know why he was doing this. Aleksei finally reveals his true motives that he was the current head of the textile company and using this business to conceal his illegal activities such as arms trafficking and money embezzlement as well as being the member of the Bratva. His reasons of being recruited by Ryan at Carter Corp as a CFO is to take espionage in finding the money they supposed to embezzled. When Ryan learns of his horrible acts, he decided to rethink and regroup. He even attempting to kidnap his half-sister Jenny Blake just for ransom but changing of plans because of the player. Since the player knows of the access codes in Carter Corp, Aleksei wanted to give her the codes in order to get the money they need and his hatred for the United States. The player angrily refuses to give him the codes until the first explosion occurs, causing Aleksei and his men to find someone had done it. The player was relieved that it was Jake who came to rescue them as he unties Carrie first until Aleksei arrives back to continue his charade after learning of his survival. Jake pretends he was taken hostage and was used to provoke the player to get the access codes of the company. Not until Carrie confronts him and to his shock that she was only pretending the entire time as she blew the black box to make black outs and cause another explosion so that the American special forces to get in to infiltrate Aleksei and his group. The player was protected by Jake while covering her ears to stall time while she remembers the good memories she had currently spending time with Jake here in Moscow. It is revealed that she was carried by Jake to safety while he suffered minor injuries. As she opens her eyes, she noticed that most of Aleksei's men were wound up dead and Jake reassures her that she is safe. Just as both are about to get out, they heard the gunshot from the hangar and noticed that Aleksei managed to escape from the gunfight between his men and the American special forces and attempting to kill them both by shooting at them but missed. Because of this, Jake immediately shoots Aleksei to the chest with his handgun causing him to collapses onto the piece of metal sheets then into the ground. The player was relieved and intensively kisses him because of his heroic deeds and Carrie arrives to interrupt their romantic rendezvous. Both Jake and Carrie reveal to the player about their ruse which is why Jake releases Carrie first before she set the black box to make the second explosion so that the American special forces to get through their territory to infiltrate. Due to their current relationship, Carrie tells them to get some room. As they decided to get out of the warehouse, the player sees the American special forces, apprehending some of Aleksei's men who survive the gunfight as well as Aleksei who is later revealed to have survive from getting shot by Jake was taken to an ambulance to treat his injuries, leading to his hospital arrest for questioning of his crimes. Returning back to the hotel, they spend the night together while they made love because of their feelings for each other. The player is also troubling about Jake's decision to resign as a government agent. The next day, she calls Gabriel until Gabriel receives it from Ashton's phone and it was revealed that Ashton was angrily jealous when Gabriel had spoken to the player regarding about the incident with Aleksei as his beatdown from Aleksei had almost broken his nose. Ryan actually gave him his private jet to get back to New York and the player overcomes her aerophobia when Jake is with her. Back at New York and reporting to Ryan at his office in Carter Corp, Jake informs Ryan about Aleksei and his true motives of his crimes which led him to apologize to the player for not supporting her from the very beginning. Both are also shocked that Ryan had known the top secret all this time, much to Jake's anger and disappointment. Ryan eventually letting Jake to accept his resignation which Jake would inform the bureau about it as well as his negotiations with them and for that his real identity Jack Baumann will be erased permanently and continued to use his alternate name as Jake Stewart once he resigns his post.
As the two separate ways because Jake needs to focus on his resignation at the government bureau. The player visits Gabriel and they meet after he postponed his date. At his apartment, Gabriel reveals that Ashton was given a promotion by Ryan as the head of the Legal Services in all Carter Corp branches. But he turned down due to his feelings with the player which shocks her. Gabriel eventually tells her to choose her decision go with Jake or Ashton which she responded that it was difficult. Back to Carter Corp the next day, she decided to resign her post as the CFO of the company by confronting Ryan on his office. Once she barged in, Ryan senses her presence and he reveals that he accepted the player's resignation much to her surprise and noticing of how he had knew and he was thankful for the player to work on his company as well as he made a regards to Jake. On the way back out, she sees Ashton who is busy on his current work as she decided to visit him. The player tries to reason with Ashton to get that promotion but he refused because of his feelings to her. As she keeps rejecting his romantic advances, Ashton became angered after knowing she chose Jake rather than him causing him to have a violent outrage not until he drops a small box from his formal suit jacket after he violently throws most of the glass. The player realizes that the small box was an engagement ring which Ashton had made up to propose her to marriage just to rekindle their former relationship so Ashton decided to keep it as a memento instead, as he finally let her go. While packing all of her things at her office and leaving the building, Gabriel winks her then given a friendly hug by Lisa. After putting her things back to her apartment, she reunites with Jake at the Central Park and noticing that Jake had already resigned his current post at the Bureau and the two continued their blossoming romance. While walking at the streets of New York, they were confronted by Carrie who scolds Jake for not contacting her and Jake reveals that he had resigned his post as a government agent on the Bureau so that he could spend time with the player, much to her horrible shock and annoyed. Until Carrie reveals that she has a new partner after him and finally let them go freely. Carrie tells the player to look after Jake before she walks away. But deep down, she was upset for letting Jake now her former partner resigned his post. At sunset while waiting for their flight in Toronto, Canada, it is revealed that both Jake and the player are living together at his apartment in Manhattan, New York and Jake was concerned about the player to spend her family. The player tells him that going with him was appealing instead of spending time with her family, making Jake to kiss her passionately while complimenting her new look and he would gladly to spend time with her. He later concerns to her about her aerophobia which she had reassured her that she had overcome her fears and gladly that he was there to help her out. After the call for their plane trip to Toronto, both eventually departed just to spend time romantically together.
In the bad ending in which the player remains being CFO especially Jake who is still the government agent and both are not taking their resignations of their respective jobs. The player couldn't overcame her aerophobia despite Jake is trying his best to support her during their trip back to New York. Because of the turbulence, the player gives him an angry reaction about fear, anxiety and any forms of danger, much to Jake's horrible surprise and all of her words also affects their current relationship and Jake decided to leave her be. Once arriving at New York, the player was excited to return home. Jake becomes disappointed over the player's annoyance and actions and decided to reveal to Ryan his real identity as Jack Baumann. The player decided to support him but Jake tells her that he will be waiting for her once she is done taking the shower. In reality while she is on her way back to her apartment, she calls Lisa, who is exaggerating about what happened to her with Gabriel and Ashton regarding about the kidnapping made by Aleksei. The player reassures her that she is okay and decided to meet her in Chez Felipe's during their lunch breaks. While ordering some food, the player likes to get Lisa some love advice due to her getting confused on how to pick either Jake and Ashton and she loves them both. Once they done eating lunch, she receives a text message from Jake who decided to leave Carter Corp. Arriving back at Carter Corp, Lisa decided to leave them and both are walking in the street up to the Central Park. Their current relationship becomes a tail-end when Jake decided to avoid any forms of relationship including romance when he's getting close to the player. He soon reveals that Ryan had known him from the beginning where he decided to investigated him due to his current job as a government agent while taking undercover missions. Both remains lost when they ask themselves regarding about their current jobs. Jake then takes her back to her apartment before leaving back to his own apartment because she wanted to check on both Gabriel and Ashton after she rejected his offer to watch the movie together.
Back in her apartment while trying to wash away the nightmares being taken by Aleksei for kidnapping her, she was visited by Gabriel who made a horrible surprise joke at her into thinking Ashton remains getting hospitalized. Ashton later arrives and Gabriel informs her that he was promoted as the head of the Legal Services in all of Carter Corp's branches, much to her excitement and joy. She tells Ashton about his dream job was finally became true, but he remains hesitant because of the stresses he would take on his new job. He also confesses his love to the player which she gladly accepts, finally rekindle their former relationship. The next morning, she receives many unread messages from Jake as she calls him to meet her at the coffee near Carter Corp. Once they meet each other unnoticed, Jake reveals that he will resign his post as a government agent and wanted her to propose her to marriage by giving her an engagement ring. Just before he could do so, Carrie intervenes and informing him about their old case in Chicago, Illinois where a girl was murdered who had a tattoo on her neck. The player was surprised that Jake intrigues this investigation and decided to keep his job as a government agent. As they get out of the coffee shop, Jake confesses his love to her and for changing his ways. The player slaps him because she doesn't want to have a long distance relationship with him but also confesses her love to him. However despite her romantic confession, she breaks him up instead and decided to turn away much to the latter's upset and disappointed. Once she looked at him one final time, the SUV disappears knowing that Jake goes with Carrie on the mission in Chicago. Several months later, she and Gabriel are in the limo to get through the expensive restaurant just to celebrate Gabriel's departure in Tokyo (a call back on the final chapter of his route) and Ashton's promotion. It is revealed that the player is no longer the CFO in Carter Corp but becoming the art gallery director in MET instead and spending along together with Ashton during that relationship. The player also remembers the time she was targeted by Aleksei and his group. Therefore, she gasped upon learning the news on the radio that the serial killer in Chicago remains at large and realizing that Jake and any government security agencies had been failed to apprehend the serial killer and also surprises Gabriel on her reaction. As Gabriel helps her get climbed up the stairs because of her 5-inch heels, he was horribly shocked that he forgot his phone at the limo and immediately runs back to get it. She later receives a message from Ashton which she decided to go visit him. Arriving at the restaurant, Ashton was waiting at her and compliments her dress and look. Both eventually made out until they break away to serve their orders as well as champagne. The player then receives a message from Gabriel who finally retrieves his phone, telling them to good luck on their evening night. To her shock, Ashton proposes her the marriage by showing the engagement ring, while confesses all the bad things he had done in the beginning, to the point of renewing his love to her by the time she was in a relationship with Jake. Ashton asks her to be his wife which she gladly accepts and Ashton embraces her in a spinning manner, fulfilling his love to her at last and finally kisses her while blacking out.
